Harper GenealogySir Wiliam Harper, Knight, oldest son of Sir Thomas Harper, Knight, was Lord of Rashell. Married Margaret Coke, daughter of Henry Coke, of Cathorp Manor in Leicester.
Capt. John Harper and his wife, Mary Cunningham Harper, were the parents of Nancy Harper, who became the wife of Rev. Wells Andrews and came to Hartford, Ohio, with Rev. Wells, who became pastor of the church at Hartford. Later the widow of Capt. John Harper, Mary Cunningham Harper, and mother of Nancy, came from Virginia to Hartford, Ohio, to live with her daughter Nancy. She died there in 1832 and is buried there in the old cemetery at the Center, in an old fashioned box-like vault, which stands about three feet high above the ground, about six feet long and three feet wide, with a flat stone covering the top of the whole vault, on which is engraved her name and other information. This vault is still in a good state of preservation at the present time.
