Capt. Samuel Jones Genealogy

Capt. Samuel³ Jones (Samuel² Hugh¹) of Woburn, Massachusetts. He was born in Woburn, November 19, 1696, lived there until 1731. when he removed to that part of Marlborough, which in 1784, became Berlin. where he settled on a large farm. There he became a prominent man, served as selectman in 1741, and in 1748 was commissioned Captain of one of the local military companies. He died April 3, 1769. He married, May 23, 1722. Susanna, born January 11, 1700, daughter of Capt. Edward and Sarah (Walker) Johnson of Woburn. She died September 17, 1793. They had ten children.

2. Samuel, born August 24, 1725, died January 23, 1797. Married first, 1748, Mehitable Brigham of Marlborough and married second, Dorothy Whitcomb, December 14, 1763.
3. Esther, born December 14, 1727.
4. Ichabod, born June 20, 1730.
5. Jonathan, born March 18, 1731, died September 26, 1803. Married Elizabeth. They had 1 child, Martin. born 1765.
6. Sarah, born February 17, 1733-4.
7. Lieut. Ichabod. born March 11. 1735.
8. Silas, born May 7, 1738. Married, May 3, 1774, Beula Stone of Rutland. Children:
