Nathaniel Smith Genealogy

Nathaniel Smith, , b. Jan. 9, 1778, the youngest child in the family as Alitheah was the oldest, married in Walpole, N. H., May 8, 1803, Experience Goodell. Of their seven children:

1. HARRIET, b.--, m. Thomas Bartlett.
2. LOUISA, b.--, m. George Bingham.
3. LAURA SMITH, b. March 13, 1817, m. Feb. 20, 1840, Raymond C. Witherspoon, b. July 7, 1816; d. Dec. 1, 1889. The children of Laura and Raymond C. Witherspoon were:
   1. ADELAIDE C. WITHERSPOON, b. --, m. March 1, 1866, Stuart McDougall, of New York City, later of West Brooklyn.
   2. HATTIE WITHERSPOON, b. --, m. W. D. McDougall of West Brooklyn.
      
      These sisters, Adelaide C. and Hattie, with their husbands and families, are of the present generation, and prosperously situated.
