Samuel Parish Genealogy

SAMUEL3 PARISH (Samuel,2 John1) was born in Chebacco Parish, Ipswich, Mass., 12 Oct. 1700. He married, 6 July 1724, MARY ROOD of Norwich, Conn., and was admitted by letter to the First Congregational Church of Canterbury, Conn., 7 Apr. 1742. In Sept. 1744 Samuel Parish, with a majority of the church, signed a protest against the call by the society of the Rev. Mr. Cogswell. The final separation of these members from the church occurred in Dec. 1744, and on 10 Sept. 1746 he was a subscriber to the call of Solomon Paine as pastor.
